When you cover Fantastic Fest remotely as I did, you may not get to see showings of future box office hits like Resident Evil or Beware Boiúna. However, you get to see some amazing international titles like No Rest for the Wicked and The Ones Who Grieve. You may also end up watching an indie gem that you could not imagine you would enjoy as much as you did. Enter Mr. Creamjeans’ Hidey Hole.
Mr. Creamjeans’ Hidey Hole is a sleazy, gory, and hilarious erotic horror comedy anthology that is sure to become an instant cult classic.
Welcome to the Hidey Hole!
Henry (Fred Bort), a man plagued by chronic pain and unresolved guilt, receives a chilling message: “I know what you did.” The note leads him to the Hidey Hole, an underground museum of erotic nightmares curated by the charismatic and unsettling Mr. Creamjeans (Josh Griffey). There, Henry is offered a chance to erase all traces of his secret crime, but only if he submits to a guided tour of the museum’s most depraved exhibits.
With every tale, Henry’s pain worsens and his grip on reality slips, until he is forced to confront the twisted role he has played in the lives and deaths of others. By the end, Henry must decide: confess the truth and face the consequences, or lose himself to the Hidey Hole forever.
Again, Mr. Creamjeans’ Hidey Hole is a horror anthology with a cold open starring Jessica Jupiter Flux, and a wraparound story featuring the titular Mr. Creamjeans and Henry. In the middle, we have three segments that include a sad housewife who wants her cheating husband to only have eyes for her, a man who is taking care of his elderly grandpa who has an unusual appetite, and a serial killer who steals his victim’s lady parts.

Written by Jonathan Holiday and Josh Griffey, and directed by Heath Benfield, Mr. Creamjeans’ Hidey Hole truly comes alive as a raunchy fever dream with crude, yet intelligent humor and images you will never be able to unsee. Mr. Creamjeans’ Hidey Hole shows so much promise in the team over at Misfit Parade, so keep an eye out for what they do next.
