5 Horror TV Shows We’re Excited For In 2025

If there is one thing that can rival my love of horror movies, it is my lust for a quality horror TV show. I love a brutal binge as much as the next sicko, which is part of the reason I am another millennial with too many podcasts. So, I could not help but notice that we are getting some heavy hitters on the small screen. I might have also salivated a little too. Only because we are getting cannibals, shapeshifting clowns, and even going to space this year. If you cannot tell, I am delighted to share these five TV shows we are excited about in 2025. I hope you join me in searching for a showmance in all the not-a-zombie places this year.

Alien: Earth – Summer 2025 on Hulu

A ragtag group of soldiers are sent to investigate a space vessel that crash-landed on Earth. We finally have the long-awaited Alien series, which I had almost given up on. I am crying, throwing up goo, and stomping through the hallways of my building like I am the head Xenomorph in charge. As if this could not get better, Timothy Olyphant (Scream 2) and Essie Davis (The Babadook) are in this cast about FAFO with the aliens.

It: Welcome to Derry – 2025 on (HBO) Max

It seems kids in the 1960s were not safe from the shapeshifting merciless creature that tormented The Loser’s Club. If you vibe with the It remakes and have been worried this series would end up being pushed to 2026, then good news. This prequel series to a wildly popular Stephen King novel is slated to arrive on Max this year. If you were worried we would have to make friends with a new Pennywise, I am happy to report that Bill Skarsgård is in the cast. I think we can get our hopes up for this one.

The Last Of Us – April 2025 on (HBO) Max

The series picks up with Joel and Ellie five years after the events of the first season. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are back to continue breaking our hearts in this not-zombie apocalypse. So, if you are like me, this is a warning to finish the second game so you will know how devastated you will be before the episodes air. We do not have to cry it out weekly this time. We can cry it all out beforehand, friends. Fingers crossed that we can all avoid spoilers while social media is having an identity crisis.

Stranger Things – 2025 on Netflix

The Hawkins, Indiana squad is finally having it out with Vecna and the other critters in the Upside Down in the final season of Stranger Things. Many of us have been with this show for almost a decade and need this closure. We are also rooting for some substantial character deaths that are way overdue, while others were killed far too soon. I am trying to not look at Barb and Eddie’s deaths because I know it will raise my blood pressure. This fifth and final season is still on the docket for 2025. So, we are finally about to end the longest relationship most of us nerds have had this millennium.

Yellowjackets – February 14 on Paramount+ with Showtime

The present-day squad is still recovering from losing one of their own as they continue unearthing secrets they thought were behind them. That’s right! These fine young cannibals have returned for a third season. Seeing how it starts on Valentine’s Day, I hope they eat someone’s heart out. However, I will be sat regardless because this is my kind of sports situation. I am excited to see how the new characters fit in as we discover what secrets and betrayals await this group this time. More importantly, I need to know how they will deal with that major character death that devastated us in the previous season finale.

We are also leaning into Anne Rice’s The Talamasca, which is scheduled to land on AMC/AMC+ this year. However, it does not have a trailer or photos at the moment. So, we are left to wonder if it will live up to the expectations set by the network’s Interview with the Vampire TV series.

I hope this list has gotten you excited to stay home and watch some weird stuff. I am unsure if we will be skeeting, threading, or on some new social media app as these TV shows start rolling out. However, I hope you find your squad that understands the art of posting without spoilers. Hug those nerds and make room for me if you see me on the internet streets.
