8 Genre TV Shows We Can’t Wait To See in 2026

I love TV, and I love horror. So, of course, I am all over horror TV shows as they come out. I’m here for the episodic nightmare fuel, thrillers with huge twists, and even some occasional sci-fi. This is why I’m excited about quite a few of the shows we can expect this year. 2026 is giving us a chance to catch up with established favorites, a surprising reboot, and a property making its way to streaming in serial form. So, rise up, my fellow couch potatoes! Here’s what I have my eye on this year.

Blade Runner 2099 – 2026 on Amazon

A mini-series set fifty years after Blade Runner 2049. I keep meaning to revisit the Blade Runner universe because I saw the original as a kid and have questions. However, Blade Runner 2099 has my attention because I’m going wherever Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer go.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale – 2026 on Hulu

Buffy is back and training a new slayer! As I’m a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer nerd, clearly, this is one of the shows I will be hitting play on the second it drops. While I know it can never live up to the series I grew up with, I cannot help being curious about how this will work. If you’re in the same situation, grab your Scoobies and meet at The Bronze for a post-show dish!

The Creep Tapes – 2026 on Shudder

Our favorite sociopath will be back with more deadly tapes in a third season. Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass have already confirmed they started filming. Meanwhile, I can confirm I am already sat because I take this Creep business seriously. Will we meet more relatives/spouses? Maybe. Will Duplass find new ways to unsettle us with this character? You betcha! Which is another reason it’s great they’re getting this next season out sooner rather than later.

From (Season 4) – 2026 on MGM+

Harold Perrineau and the team are coming back for more confusion, chaos, and crying. From stresses me out, and I love it. It’s one of the scariest shows on TV and is also 19 riddles in a trench coat. So, I’m going to be obnoxious when we get back into this world with everything that went down in the season 3 finale. Will people stay dead? I don’t know. Will the wigs look better? I hope so. Are we going to watch more characters get opened like lobsters at a buffet? I am willing to bet my computer on it. Let’s go, Team Purgatory!

Paradise (Season 2) – February 23 on Hulu

The conspiracies and cover-ups from last season continue to be worth killing for in season two. This Sterling K. Brown political thriller shocked me by being very sci-fi forward. It was also ridiculously addictive, and I am excited it’s back so soon. If you haven’t started Paradise yet, it’s really that good. Also, try to go in knowing as little as possible. You’ll thank me later because it will become your new personality.

Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat – 2026 on AMC

Interview with the Vampire is one of the best shows on and the best Anne Rice adaptation I have ever seen. So, changing the name and turning the wigs around is bold. However, we still have the cast that continues to get robbed at award shows. More importantly, the show seems to be bracing to take even bigger swings as it returns for its third season. I don’t know what to expect, but I am so excited to finally see it.

Widow’s Bay – on April 29 on Apple TV

A New England mayor might have a cursed island on his hands. I don’t mean to follow Matthew Rhys from series to series. However, it just kind of happened after The Americans, and I keep having a good time. Which is why I don’t plan to fix what’s not broken. If you see me get back together with Apple TV in April, this is the reason. Please respect my privacy at that time and look away.

Yellowjackets (Season 4) – 2026 on Showtime

Our lovely young cannibals still have more people to eat and more secrets to keep. Their adult versions are also up to some weird stuff, too, but it’s not quite as sadistic. Will this fourth season see the show reclaim its rightful spot as one of the best shows currently on? Or will we get more brutal fights and overcooked coaches? I am here for it either way, because we should let them eat Jackiefruit!

Those are the eight genre TV shows I’m most excited to binge at the moment. Here’s hoping we get some more ghoulish goodies announced soon. I’m trying to stay in as much as possible because I prefer my horror on the screen.
