October 2024, a streaming service dedicated to all things found footage and in-world camera called FoundTV was launched. Owners Louie and Monica La Vella, with help from Communications & Content Coordinator Rob Winsor, are doing their part to keep this niche subgenre of horror alive and well. From acquiring mainstream titles like Hell House, LLC to obscure franchises like the Yami Douga series, and bringing constant exclusives and originals, FoundTV remains the best streaming service for found footage fans. And in honor of FoundTV’s second anniversary, here are some important titles to stream in October.
Invited (2024)
Directed by Navin Ramaswaran
When a reluctant mother attends her daughter’s Zoom elopement, she and the rest of the family in attendance quickly realize the groom is part of a Russian cult with deadly intentions. Written by owner Monica La Vella and produced by owner Louie La Vella, Invited has become an underrated mainstay on FoundTV. It is essentially what gave them the idea to create FoundTV. Invited is a stressful ride and will make you appreciate your family just a little bit more.
The McKinney Family Home Videos Volume 2 (2025)
Directed by Nick Cotrufo
Another tape is uncovered documenting the inner workings of The Church of the Holy Mother, its leader Diana, and their Godhead Lilith. After the success of The McKinney Family Tapes Volume 1, FoundTV and director Nick Cotrufo teamed up to bring FoundTV’s FIRST original title to the platform. Cotrufo brings sinister vibes to a whole new level in The McKinney Family Tapes Volume 2. Analog horror fans will definitely want to put this at the top of their watch list.
Found Short Selections Season 3
FoundTV has brought a series of short films to the streaming service, including titles like Season 1’s Augmented and Deaf Hour and Season 2’s The Dark Watchers and Brain Bucket. Earlier this year, FoundTV hosted a week-long film lab series. They gave lessons to anyone who subscribed to the newsletter on how to create a found footage short film. At the end of this film lab, they allowed anyone who completed a short film to submit it for possible inclusion in season 3 of the Found Shorts Selections program. Not only does FoundTV platform found footage directors, they are helping CREATE them!
A Possession in Lincoln County (2026)
Directed by Louie La Vella
A Possession in Lincoln County premieres on FoundTV October 23rd to the free with ads subscriptions, and on October 22nd to FoundTV paid subscribers. This title is important to the FoundTV streaming service because it is the first in-house FoundTV original title. Written by Monica La Vella and directed by Louie Lavella. A man documents his wife’s cancer-until a terminal diagnosis leads him to an ancient ritual to summon the Devil and make a deal. His footage spirals into a chilling record of kidnapping, demonic rituals, and the price of desperation.
In a short two years, FoundTV has made such a large impact on the found footage horror genre. The team understands the importance of the genre because they are a part of the genre. There is no one better to have a platform like FoundTV. So make sure you are subscribed to FoundTV, they have a free with ads tier and a paid tier (which allows you access to watch original titles like A Possession in Lincoln County one day earlier than everyone else). Happy Anniversary FoundTV and cheers to many more!
