I caught the pilot episode of a really cool docuseries at this year’s Salem’s Horror Fest called Liminal. It quickly became my favorite paranormal investigator situation in a sea of these sorts of shows. This team soon won me over as they headed to look into a haunting in a rural area to prove that “strangeness and queerness are linked intrinsically”. Because the internet is sometimes used for good, I connected with one of the team members, Dash Kwiatkowski, who gave me a sneak peek at the next episode featuring Ray Wise! So, I am here to share why this special episode needs to be on your radar.

From executive producer Sam Haft (Hazbin Hotel, The Living Tombstone), Liminal follows non-binary investigator Dash Kwiatkowski, their co-host Rosa Escandón, and practicing witch Rockette Fox as they explore the connection between queer/trans people and gravitation towards the paranormal.

The episode description reads,

“Ray Wise joins the Liminal Team in a special bonus episode of the acclaimed paranormal investigation show. Liminal: Bonus Episode | Death and the Family ft. Ray Wise brings the team to Los Angeles and follows them as they investigate with actor Ray Wise (Twin Peaks, Robocop) and his daughter Kyna in the latter’s seemingly haunted home while exploring themes of family, “found family,” and death. The episode is now available to watch on YouTube.”

The bonus episode was shot, edited, and scored by William Head. Head also serves as the series director. It is also just as addictive as the pilot. So, I’m happy that the Liminal team plans to produce a full 10-episode season. I am even happier to hear their crowdfunding campaign exceeded the goal, which guarantees they can film their second episode.

Creator Dash Kwiatkowski said of the episode, “I’ve been a fan of Twin Peaks for years. So, that alone made me want to jump at the opportunity, but finding out that Ray was a huge believer in the paranormal AND a long-term supporter of LGBTQ+ people made this a dream episode to film.”

Co-host Rosa Escandon said, “At first, I was surprised that the star of Goodnight and Good Luck wanted to paranormal investigate his house with us, but that isn’t the type of request you say no to,” Escandon continued, “However, I was even more surprised by what we experienced together and the cathartic power of embracing the unknown.”

Keep up with the Liminal team on Instagram and the website. You can also watch both episodes on their site and become as obsessed with the show as I am. Please find me when you do. I have been dying to find other people as obsessed with these paranormal investigators as I am.
