So who doesn’t like free? Okay, so there’s always those weird people who will complain about everything. Even the free things in life. Yeah, just ignore them. Listen to me. Today, I’m going to give you something to enjoy. And this fun is free. And what might that be, you may ask yourselves, my horror friends. Okay, so maybe not, since you read the title already. I chose 5 horror movies to watch on Tubi before they’re gone.
Train to Busan (2016)
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho
There’s a reason this movie is on so many lists. And if you haven’t watched it yet, why haven’t you? Okay, I’ll stop with the chastising. Maybe it’s been on your list, but you needed it to be free before watching it. Well, here’s your chance. South Korean zombie flick with a hot dad taking his young daughter back to his estranged wife and getting stuck on a train full of the unhinged capital ‘Z’ Zombies. That’s seriously all you need to know to get the picture.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010)
Directed by Eli Craig
Looking for a bit of comedy with your kills? Look no further. This has to be one of my favorite comedy horrors. It’s a movie that could have quickly been resolved with a pleasant sit-down conversation. Instead, we get some judgmental young adults from the city picking on a couple of locals, and all hell breaks loose. If you’ve ever watched the movie Fargo and remember one particularly gruesome scene, you’ll get a kick out of this movie.
Misery (1990)
Directed by Rob Reiner
A classic. Misery is one of those movies I can watch every couple of years because it’s that good. But just in case you haven’t watched it yet, or it’s been a while, check it out now while it’s free. The OG of cray-cray fans keeps her favorite author hostage in a most cruel way, and there’s no way out. Lord, help us all when that infamous hobbling scene comes up.
One Missed Call (2003)
Directed by Takashi Miike
I’m talking about the 2003 Japanese horror One Missed Call here, not the 2008 American film. I am old enough to have watched this movie when Netflix was offering it via DVD in the mail. The best way to watch this flick is to have all the lights off and your phone on silent and in the next room. Seriously, you need to be all in when we’re talking about getting a strange call telling us when we’re going to die. I don’t know about you, but I find that instantly unsettling.
Jennifer’s Body (2009)
Directed by Karyn Kusama
I’ll admit that when this movie first came out in 2009, the mismarketing campaign 100% worked on me. I really thought this movie was something completely different than what it really was. It is not a movie for the male gaze. And I love that this movie is described by IMDB as “a cheerleader turned succubus who kills her male classmates.” Now tell me that doesn’t sound like a good time. You can check out our streaming guides here because we never run out of movie recs.
