In this economy, we are all looking for ways to save money and these streaming apps are starting to add up! Plex is a free app that is available on multiple platforms like streaming devices, mobile, game consoles, and the old faithful: The browser. It is ad-supported, but so is nearly everything else! If you want to pull the plug on one of your streaming app, here’s a small taste of what Plex has to offer Horror fans.

Train To Busan (2016)

Train To Busan is a great movie overall! While the film is full of action and thrills, some moments, sprinkled expertly between the thrills, will make you laugh and cry. We follow a father and daughter traveling to see her mother by train, and then a zombie outbreak happens. This movie is perfect for fans of zombie flicks and action movies.

Evil Dead 2 (1987)

Most of the images you have seen from the Evil Dead franchise were born from this movie. This movie is a horror classic and I recommend the entire franchise, although the movies have completely different tones. This film involves deadites, chainsaws, blood splatter, and laughing lamps; what’s not to love?

The Collector (2009) & The Collection (2012)

If you’re looking for a grisly double-feature, check The Collector and The Collection. The first film is a blend of home-invasion with a tablespoon of Saw and a cup of Home Alone. The plot consists of a collector who collects humans and has located the new additions to his collection. The sequel amps up the violence with an opening kill that should be in the Horror Hall of Fame.

Terrifier (2018) & Terrifier 2 (2022)

The Terrifier movies provide another bloody double-feature horror fans can check out! It’s the perfect time to press play on the first two movies with the third installment coming to theaters in October. These movies are great for turning your brain off and enjoying the gore fest. Plex is really coming through by offering both for free this month.

We Are Still Here (2015)

If you are a horror fan who loves a good haunting, I highly recommend We Are Still Here. This film follows grieving parents who move into a new house with specific demands. This film is haunting and the performances are great! There is also a bit of interesting lore between the house and the town.

Hell House LLC (2015)

Every five business days, I will tell someone to watch Hell House LLC: Today is no different. This is one of the scariest found-footage films I have seen. While some of the character choices and dialogue are a little cringy, the scares make it worth the watch. Beware of the clown!

Feast (2005)

Feast is a treat for creature feature lovers. Customers fend for themselves in a remote bar, while flesh-eating monsters try to break inside. The comedy and the gore make for an enjoyable watch every time.

Red State (2011)

If you’d like a detour from comedy and dive into realistic horror, check out Red State. This film follows the journey of three teenagers who find a woman, via an online ad, who will sleep with them simultaneously. They do not receive what they seek. The horror of this movie is that it’s tangible, using a mix of extreme politics and internet anonymity to forward the plot.

Blood and Black Lace (1964)

Giallo movies woo viewers with mystery, scandal, and outfits. This film follows a masked murderer who is killing off models from a fashion house in Rome. With a unique weapon and memorable kills, Blood and Black Lace will pique the interest of all types of horror fans; plus, it’s brutal for a film from the 60’s.
