We are excitedly gearing up for this year’s Imagine Fantastic Film Fest. The 40th edition of this festival runs from October 24 Oct to November 3, and it is packed with so many ghoulish goodies that we cannot wait to feast our eyes on. However, before we all disappear into the virtual press screening options, we wanted to highlight the top ten movies we are most excited to see at the fest. Check out our hitlist and consider buying a ticket to enjoy all these bizarre, cool, and chaotic titles.

A Different Man

Edward has acting ambitions but suffers from neurofibromatosis, a condition that has left his face covered in tumors. Experimental treatment changes his life, and Edward starts over with a sleek new face. When his neighbor writes a play about him, he auditions. But he didn’t count on a competitor.

A Mother’s Embrace

Rio de Janeiro, 1996. Firefighter Ana and her team are tasked with evacuating a care home in danger of collapsing. Upon arrival, however, the carers and patients turn out to have completely different ideas. When the team surveys the building for damage and occupants, they come upon some bizarre surprises.

Sister Paxton and Sister Barnes are gleefully unaware that their day is about to take a turn for the very worst when they visit the house of Mr. Reed – a pleasant man seemingly really interested in the teachings of Mormonism. But inside his palace lies a dark and devilish secret.

Bogotá, 1996. People suspect that the upcoming lunar eclipse will spawn the devil. Thirteen-year-old Mila has other worries – the stares of the men around her are starting to feel increasingly insistent. Is this because of the way her body is changing? As the fateful day approaches, an outburst becomes inevitable.

Travelling magician Mr. K. checks into a dilapidated hotel intending to stay for one night only. But the next morning, K can’t seem to find the exit. In the labyrinth of hallways, populated by a bunch of extremely eccentric guests, checking out is simply impossible.

France in 2039 is a totalitarian state. Climate activist Julia is part of a guerilla movement violently resisting energy companies. Meanwhile, Iraqi refugee Nour is looking to get his residence papers. When Julia is arrested, their paths cross unexpectedly.

She Loved Blossoms More

Three brothers build a time machine in order to bring their deceased mother back to life. Their already dubious experiment gets fully out of hand once their father gets involved and past and present start to interweave in a new, painful reality.

The Rule of Jenny Pen

The retirement home where cynical judge Stefan ends up seems to be run with an iron fist by fellow inhabitant Dave and his sinister hand puppet Jenny Pen. Despite his deteriorating health, Stefan is the only one to resist their reign of terror.

Your Monster

Heartbroken and diagnosed with cancer, Laura finds herself forced to move back into her old family apartment only to discover the monster from her childhood still living in her closet! A tenuous living arrangement between two displeased parties slowly morphs into something more sweet as they discover their true selves.
