Our 19th film pick is Hereditary. It was quite the movie experience for me, and I have a personal story about why this one hit me hard. Thank god for Ari Aster’s loopy storytelling to take me out of that into another depressing and shocking world.

Today’s movie is a special anniversary pick! The crowd goes wild! *Cupping hands around mouth and making crowd sound* On the 18th day of October in 1985, Re-Animator opened to all audiences in the US. You read that correctly; our 18th Halloween pick, Re-Animator, was originally released on the 18th of October!

Our 17th pick in the world of what the fuckery is…Men. Could you almost hear the tone I used? Men. Oh yeah, that’s the name of the movie. Not just men in general. I mean… This 2022 British folk horror is written and directed by Alex Garland and stars Jessie Buckley.

Well, well, well…what do we have here? Why, a worm baby, of course. Have you seen David Lynch’s 1977 Eraserhead? Do you want to see Eraserhead? I remember doing my best to have everyone I know see the glory that is the worm baby in this film.

On the 15th day of Halloween, I bring to thee the beauty that is V/H/S/94! The V/H/S series keeps bringing on the horror in the most inventive ways. Each film gives more than the previous.

For the 14th day, there’s this baddie right here- Malignant. Currently sitting at 52% on Rotten Tomatoes, I can see how this was a hit or miss with audiences. But c’mon! We all have to agree that this scary shit on the back of this woman’s head is all kinds of “What the fuck?!”

This year, we’re celebrating with a different movie pick each day that made me audibly gasp, “WHAT THE FUCK?!” On the 13th day of Halloween, I offer up the movie Signs.

On the 12th day of Halloween, I get to discuss this WTF movie moment from Aterrados (Terrified 2017). Actually, it’s the whole movie, all of it. Totally biased pick here because it’s one of my favorite films. I scream cried several times. I’m telling you right now, watch it in the dark. Trust me.

Day 11 of our 31 Days of Halloween WTF movie moments (say that ten times fast!) belongs to Drew Barrymore’s gory death in the opening scene of Scream (1996). We may have become desensitized to this 26-year-old death scene that spawned four more films. Maybe. And there’s another on the way! I promise you, though, very few films have a more iconic opening sequence.

“Something went wrong in the lab today. Very wrong.” On the 10th day of Halloween, our WTF movie moment is from Cronenberg’s 1986 The Fly because it’s all the WTF anyone would ever need. Like ever. My sister won’t even rewatch this one with me for our podcast. Once was enough for her.
